The release of the Ford Focus RS marks 10 years of the Ford Focus and 40 years of the RS brand. Although a high performance car the Focus RS is suitable for everyday driving although the fuel economy is disappointing giving only 30 miles per gallon. The Focus ST proved very popular in Electric Orange and this will be followed in the RS with Ultimate Green, the colour of the Focus World Rally Cars. This not only reflects the colour of the World Rally Championship sponsor BP but it also brings a modern day look to the Ford Escort RS Le Mans Green colour.
The Focus RS also comes in Frozen White of Ford Performance Blue, the colour of the original Focus RS.
Ford have worked closely with Continental to develop a specific compound tyre for the Focus RS. The car’s 19-inch alloy wheels are thus wrapped in 235/35/R19 bespoke Continental tyres, giving superior road contact and huge lateral grip.
The Focus RS is capable of 0-100km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 263 km/h (163 mph).
The cabin has Recaro high performance sports seats and are colour-matched to the exterior. RS and Recaro are stitched into each backrest. Alternatively, optional Ebony black, partial-leather seats will be available with all exterior colours.
